Meet Our Newest Survivors --- Angel and Destiny, two amazing little survivors who are fighting to get well. Their special medical care requires additional funding, so we are sharing their stories in the hope that they will touch your heart as well and that you would consider donating toward their care. No amount is too small (or too large), and all donations are tax-deductible.
Angel --- looked like the perfect little Maltipoo, until she turned over and exposed a hernia the size of a softball. No one wanted to adopt her or risk paying for an uncertain surgery. BFK rushed her to surgery and thankfully, her tumor was benign! Angel will need 8-10 weeks to heal, but should be better than ever. Throughout it all, Angel has been nothing but a sweetheart and is well loved by everyone at the veterinary hospital where she is being treated.
Destiny --- is suffering from sarcoptic mange (scabies) that has left her with literally no hair on her frail, skinny body. Our volunteer cried when she spotted her and we just had to give her a second chance. Once healed, her hair will grow back. Along with a nutritious and regular diet, she’ll put on weight and will be a beautiful bichon mix. In the meantime, this little girl just needs to be hugged and loved by humans. Be patient little Destiny!
Please help BFK and Angel and Destiny by making a donation to their medical fund.

Meet Our Newest Survivor and Big Time Lover --- Petey was born with an unformed back leg – but it never held him back or kept him from being a ‘normal’ bichon. He ran, played, loved and tumbled with his family for many years. Then, when his other back leg grew weak, his family took him to the shelter. Sweetie Petey was scared, very scared. The shelter people thought Petey deserved a second chance, so they called Bichon Furkids. BFK got Petey out of the shelter and outfitted him with a cart that takes the pressure off his back legs. With the help of his new wheels, Petey is learning to run and play again and has a new lease on life.
Please help BFK and Petey by making a donation to his medical fund.
