There are many ways that you can help us - and we appreciate every gesture and response. Bichon FurKids will always benefit from people who are willing to foster a dog, donate pet supplies, provide digital cameras, canopies, blankets, dog beds and other supplies - yet we also need people or families who are willing to sponsor a dog, transport a FurKid, donate services (vets, groomers, grant-writers, pet-sitters, trainers, photographers) or gift cards (to PetSmart, PetCo, Costco etc.). We also need people who would like to donate proceeds from a personal yard sale, lemonade stand or car wash (and receive tax deductions) or provide money to help us cover the costs of vetting and caring for fur kids before they are adopted. In addition we have activities, listed below, that need the help of adoring bichon lovers to help us meet the needs of the FurKids coming in to rescue.
Please review our job descriptions below and complete a Volunteer Application. Indicate just what you would like to do. For additional information, email us at or call our corporate number (858)408-1937. Your contributions will make a difference in a dog's life!

Volunteers are needed to transport dogs from shelters to groomers to veterinarians and to foster homes. They should be familiar with the county freeways and be able to map out their routes using either online mapping systems or a GPS if they have one. Volunteers transporting our furkids must have a reliable vehicle, auto insurance, a clean driving record and a cell phone in case of emergencies. Click Here for Volunteer Application
Volunteers are needed to take photos of dogs in foster care when the foster family doesn't have that capability. Sometimes a volunteer may meet the furkid at the groomer to take the photos or at a park or at the home of the foster family. Photos are then sent electronically to our webmaster for use on our web site. Click Here for Volunteer Application
We are always running short of the soft fleece blankets that our new fur kids receive when they are rescued. Sometimes it is the first thing that they can truly call their own. They snuggle on them, nest on them, often take them wherever they go - and it also helps them when they transition to their Forever Homes. If you can help us make these wonderful "no sew" blankets, please contact us. Click Here for Volunteer Application
