Hi folks! Fred246_s

My name is Fred, and I’m an easy-going cutie of one, who weighs about 13 pounds.  I have a funny little underbite, that my foster Mom says is “adorable”.  (And she says I have a sweet little personality to match.)  One of my best tricks is to put my paws up on your knee and just look at you with love until I get some petting.  And I always do!  Works like a charm!

I love to play, like any young guy.  And one of my favorite toys is…. kids!  Dad says that as soon as any kids come in the door, I start smiling and wagging my tail.  I love to play with them, and kiss their faces, and then snuggle up with them while they watch TV.  So if you have any kids at your house, I can be your babysitter!  If I don’t have kids to play with, I can still have a good time playing with my doggy foster brothers, though, running around or chasing our toys.  Then when we’re all tired out, I will curl up with my back against my best buddy and take a nap.  Mom says it’s pretty sweet.

Not to brag, but for such a young guy, I know a lot of stuff already.  I know how to walk on a leash without pulling, fetch a ball, ride quietly in the car, and wait by the sliding door when I need to go outside to take care of business.  Whatever my people ask me to do, I will do it, because then I get snuggles, and snuggles are my most favoritest thing in the whole world!! Fred245_s

Mom says I’m one of the easiest dogs she’s ever met, very smart, sweet, funny and forgiving.  She says “his soulful eyes will just melt your heart.”  Awwww, that’s so nice, Mom!  So if I sound like the kind of guy you’d like to have around, please write and ask for Fred, okay?  Now I have to go take a nap!

Kisses and smiles,

Fabulous, Flexible Fred

Hello, new friends! Lolaby2483_w

I’m Lolaby (or “Lola” for short), and I’m just the sweetest, most loving girl you’ve ever met.  My foster Mom says that my cutest trick is to look up at people with my big dark eyes full of love, until they melt into a puddle.  I’m about four and a half, and I’m a long-legged girl of 25 pounds.  Mom says I stand very tall and elegant, like a ballerina.  Awww, thanks Mom.

Once upon a time, I had a family who loved me very much.  But then they had to move out of their house and couldn’t keep me anymore, so they gave me to the nice people at Bichon Furkids.   My aunties at BFK took one look at me and knew that it would be easy to find me a new home, because they saw that I was beautiful and sweet, and all the things people like in a doggy companion.  I have enough love in my heart for everybody: dogs, people, kids (only gentle ones, please!).  Even cats!  Also, I’m a good size to be somebody’s exercise partner.  Although I’d be just as happy to be your personal couch potato!

My foster Dad says to tell you that I’m very smart, too.  I know my name, and always come when I’m called.  I’m completely housebroken.  And I know how to sit up gracefully on my back legs to get a treat.  I bet I could learn lots of new words, too, if you wanted to teach me!   Lola216_s

Basically, I am a sweet, calm, loving girl with only one goal in life: to be with my people as much as possible!    I’m looking for a forever home with people who will want to spend a lot of time with me, talking to me and snuggling me, or taking me places.  If this sounds like your family, could you please write and ask for “Lola”?

I’ll be waiting with a smile.

Kisses and hugs,

Loving and Lovable Lola

Hi everybody!

I’m Tootsie, a happy little girl who weighs only 11 pounds and is about three or four years old.   My foster Mom says I have never met a stranger, and that my tail is wagging all the time, like it has a battery!  Well, it doesn’t really.  But I just get so happy when I meet new people that I can’t help myself!

I’m a very well-behaved girl, who loves to show how I can do my commands, like “sit” or “down” or “come.” It’s easy! I’m always happy to come over and sit and have you snuggle and snuggle me.  In fact, I would love to have my people just stay home and play and pet me all day.  But if they have to go to work, I just hang out with my doggy foster sister instead.  We play chase and hide and seek and have a really good time. In the morning, one of my favorite things to do is go outside and sniff around or run in the grass.  After all that playing, I like to come inside aTootsie_1895wnd snuggle up with one of my soft toys, and then I fall asleep with my head on it!  Mom says it’s pretty adorable.

At the end of the day, because I’ve been such a good girl, I get to go up on the big bed with everybody.  I play a little with my foster sister, and then I curl up at the foot of the bed and sleep quietly through the night.  And in the morning, I let Mom know it’s time to wake up by giving her happy kisses!  She says I’m the cutest alarm clock ever!  Dad says that some good words to describe me would be gentle, good-natured, and quiet.  I don’t bark very much at all.  I prefer to spend that time snuggling!

So if you’re looking for a gentle, quiet, obedient little girl to share your home (and maybe the bed?) please fill out an application and ask for me, Tootsie.  I’ll be waiting!

Love,

Teeny but Terrific Tootsie

Hello world! Wyatt3_s

My name is Wyatt, and I’m a little guy with a very loving and mellow personality.  When they pulled me out of the shelter, the first thing I did was get up on somebody’s lap.  If you look up “cuddlebug” in the dictionary you’ll see my picture!  (Actually, I’m not sure that word is in the dictionary… but if it was, it would have my picture!)

I am an adult furkid of maybe about eight or ten, who will give you the best of both worlds: I love activity, but I can also be very mellow.  My foster Mom says to tell you that one of my favorite things to do in the world is go on a walk.  I get so happy even hearing the word “walk”!  I walk very nicely, never pulling on the leash, and Mom says I get the biggest grin on my face when I’m out there .  We have a half-mile loop near our house that we do at least twice a day.  To me that is doggie heaven!!!  So I’m definitely looking for a family who wants to walk with me.
Wyatt4_s
I’m also very mellow though.  I almost never bark.  I’m so quiet that my foster Dad says he forgets I’m in the room.  And I just looooooove to get my fur brushed!  It feels so good that sometimes I get all relaxed and almost fall asleep!  It cracks everybody up, but I can’t help it.  Because I’m such a cuddlebug, I get along great with everyone.  I love kids (especially if they brush me!) and people of all types.  For naps, I like to snuggle up to my doggy foster brother, and at night I love to sleep on the big bed with my people.

Mom describes me as sweet, adorable, cuddly, huggable, and lovable.  If that sounds like the kind of guy you’re looking for, could you please fill out an application and ask for Wyatt?  Thanks so much!

Sweet cuddles and kisses,

Wonderful Little Wyatt

Hello friends!
Precious2_s
I’m Precious, a sweet little pup of only about a year and a half, and I’m doing my very best to live up to my name.  I’m a playful, funny girl who weighs about 15 pounds.  My foster Mom says one of the funniest things I do is to roll around ecstatically on my dog bed, like I’m having the best time ever.  Well, I am!

I love games of all types!  One of my favorite games is to throw a toy off the sofa and into the air.  Wheeeeee!!  Then I scramble down and chase it.  I like all sorts of people, particularly older kids, who will throw the ball for me, over and over and let me fetch it for them and put it down at their feet.  It’s fun for them and for me.  A real win-win!  But just about anybody who will play with me is great!  After all that running and playing, I’m ready to cuddle up with my favorite people, and just get love, love, and more love.  My foster Mom says I’m “one cuddling sweetheart”.  Awww, thanks!
Precious3_s
Because I’m just a little tyke, I’m still learning stuff, like not to put my mouth on the people.  I’m looking for a family that will help teach me lots of stuff, because I’m smart and alert and ready to learn.  I do know one very important thing already, though, which is how to potty outside.  I’m pretty proud of myself for learning that one.

So if you’re looking for a puppy with lots of playful energy, and you have the time to work with me to teach me new things, then I’m your girl!  Just fill out an application and ask for Precious.  Oh, look, there goes a ball!  See you later!

Love,

Playful, Priceless Precious

Hi all!Liam295_s

I'm Liam. I'm eleven pounds of squirmy puppy. At four months old, I'm a very active little guy. Are you ready for lots of play time? I like playing with other dogs, adults and kids. As long as I'm playing, I'm the happiest Bichon in the world!

I love to run with my foster brothers. My foster Mom says it keeps them busy and out of her hair. One of my very favoritest games is when somebody plays tug-of-war with me.  And I love people of all ages. But I can't play with real young or rough children, because I'm kind of fragile.

You see, I have something called “mild intention tremor and hypermetria”. Wow, that’s hard to say!  Pretty big words for a little pup like me! Most people just call it wobbly dog syndrome. My tremors make my head shake. Dad says that the hypermetria gives me a real interesting gait. I step real high, and he says I like one of those Tennessee walking horses. I'll probably always walk like a puppy. A little goofy and out of control.

But don’t feel bad for me!  My disorder doesn’t stop me one bit! I'm a very independent guy, and I can be left alone in the house with no worries. I've never chewed anything up, like some puppies I know. I ride in a crate in the car, and sleep in my own bed. I'm housebroken too.  (Mom and Dad get big smiles when anyone asks about that.  It doesn’t seem like a big deal to me!) Oh!  And I just learned how to climb up stairs. I need a hand coming down, but we all need help sometimes.Liam082_s

My foster mom says that everyone who has met me has fallen in love with me. She thinks my disorder makes me even cuter. Awww, thanks, Mom!  My vet says that I'm going to live a long and healthy life.

In fact, my vet, Dr. Anderson, will speak to anyone who's interested in adopting me. He's a great guy.

Now that you have decided on bringing home a special friend, maybe you should have a look at me: happy, cuddly and silly Liam!

Loads and Loads of Licks and Love,

Liam

Hey everybody!
Riley0208s
My name is Riley.  My foster Mom describes me as a “long and low” Bichon boy of three, who is happy and playful.  I’ll take that as a compliment, Mom!  To me, the glass is always half-full… of dog treats!

I only weigh about 12 pounds, but I love to run and play like a big dog.  I get along well with other dogs of all ages and types, and always try to be nice to everybody: people, other dogs, the groomer who made my hair look all nice.  (Hey, a guy has to look good to charm the ladies, right?)  I’m also curious about new things, and love to sniff around and explore, just to see what’s out there.  Hopefully, a treat!  I also love to ride in the car and see everything going by.  I get a big smile on my face when I’m in the car.
Riley0198s
Mom says that I have a very balanced temperament.  She says those are some long words meaning that I can ‘go with the flow’.  If you want to play, I can play.  If you want to snuggle, I can snuggle.  I absolutely love getting attention from my people, and one of my favorite tricks is to roll over on my back with my feet in the air for a belly rub.  Works every time!  But Mom says that if you’re busy, I’m not clingy and can entertain myself.

My favorite time of day is the end of the evening, when I get to crawl up on the big bed with my people and go to sleep.  That makes my heart feel so content!

So if you’ve been looking for an affectionate, alert, playful and happy companion, I’m your guy.  Write in and ask for Riley, okay?

Lots of love and snuggles,

Relaxed and Ready-to-Love Riley

Hello new friends!

Noah3_t

My name is Noah, and I’m a cute little lovebug who is playful, fearless, and smart.  I am about seven, and I weigh in at 15 pounds of pure snuggliness.  Wanna know my best trick?  As soon as a person walks over to me, I roll onto my back and stretch my legs waaaaaaaaay out so I can get a tummy rub.  My foster Mom says it’s pretty adorable.

My other great skill in life, not to brag, is fetch.  I love fetch!!  It’s the greatest game ever.  And I don’t do it halfway, like some dogs do, just running away with the ball.  Nope, I go get the ball and bring it over and drop it right at your feet.  And when you throw it, I go get it and bring it back and drop it.  Again and again.  It is so fun!

I also love to ride in the car.  In fact when the car stops I make a sad little whining noise, like “Oh, is it over…?”   Mom says to tell you that I am a very smart guy.  I know a bunch of words like 'sit', 'no', 'cookie' and ‘potty’.  Oh and on that special subject, I want to mention that I am completely housebroken.  If Mom forgets to take me out, I make a little ‘reminder’ noise.   I’m like a little doggie alarm clock.Noah1_w

Now, my perfect home would be with adults (no cats or kids) who want to love and love and love on me.  Maybe another doggy friend too, if you have one handy.  And I love to walk or run, so if you need an exercise partner, I’m your guy.  But the main thing I need is love.  And don’t worry, if you forget, I will come over and nudge your hand or roll over to remind you.  It’s no problem at all!

So if you’ve been looking for a smart, playful,  loving little buddy like me, please fill out an application and ask for Noah.  I’ll go get the ball now, just in case!

Hugs and kisses (and a nudge),

Noah, the Nicest New Friend

Hi Everyone,

My name is Petey and I’m a little lovebug. I am 11 pounds of happiness and sweetness --and a very special little guy too! You see I was born with an unformed back leg – but it never kept me from being normal. I ran, played, loved and tumbled with my family. Then when I was about six or seven, my family took me to the shelter … and left me! You see my other back leg was tired – and I could no longer be the playful little guy I once had been.

I was scared, very scared. The big barking dogs scared me, being in a crowded cage with other dogs scared me -- and I kept looking for my family. The shelter manager was concerned! She knew that no one was going to see my beautiful spirit, my soft brown eyes and my sweetness.

That caring, compassionate lady called Bichon FurKids. And my Auntie’s came to my rescue. They thought I might do well with a cart – and would, once again, be able to live life to the fullest. Then my cart arrived (it was made just for me!) I got it adjusted and started to learn how to make it work. It took a little bit of time … then, with determination and support, I mastered my wheels. You see I really like to walk! I always did and now I can once more! Yeah for me!

I learned how to walk on concrete – and even on grass! Soon I learned that I could go just about any where with my wheels. I got so good with my wheels that my aunties are calling me Speedy, Sweetie Petey!

Oh and I want you to know I can still move around the house and yard without my wheels – and I can certainly find my way to snuggle on your lap. It’s just that they give me the freedom to be an active, playful guy once again.

Now my biggest and greatest prayer is that some wonderful people will see my spirit, my sweetness, my determination and my trusting nature -- and invite me to join their family.

So if I sound like a little guy who’s right for you, please complete our application and Ask for me.

Your friend-in-waiting,

Speedy, Sweetie Petey

Hi world!Keno_head3

It's Skittles and Keno here. We are a bonded pair of Bichons (male and female), who are beautiful, sweet, and very lucky to be starting a whole new life together.  We are like two little furry movie heroes on a big adventure!   You see, we used to belong to a breeder, who didn’t let us have a normal doggy life, but happily, those days are over! The nice people at Bichon Furkids rescued us, and  now we’re just looking for someone to introduce us to a world we’ve never known.

I’m Keno, and I’m an easy going guy who enjoys napping in my own bed or outside in the sun. I’m seven years old, and eighteen pounds of pure Bichon!  My foster Mom says that I get along with every dog and person I meet.  Every single one!

Dad says I’m very smart because I learned to use the dog door within an hour of arriving at my new foster home.  I also figured out how to open the doggy pen with my nose; you have to be pretty strong to do that!  (Sometimes Skittles calls me “Hercules”!)   I’m also very well behaved, and happily stay by myself if my people have to go out… of course it’s more fun to go along with them on a ride in the car!  Zoooooooom!

Now for me. I'm Skittles. I'm a happy Bichon girl of seven years old, who weighs about  nineteen pounds. Dad says I could use a little more exercise, but hey, that’s fine with me!  It won’t be hard because I love going out to explore. I really like long hikes on the bay trails. I've met pelicans and herons and I almost got hit by a turkey buzzard. Yikes!  Mom said that my sweet personality charmed him out of the sky!Skittles_head3

On hot days, I like walking with Keno in the shade at the local park. My favorite part is when people come up and pet us. Not to brag, but they all say that I'm very pretty.  I know Keno would like it if I was less adventurous, but I just can't help myself. I want to try all of the things that I missed in the past. Things like walking on grass, wading in a creek and being somebody’s very best and most loved companion.

Keno and I are looking for patient, loving person with a biiiiiiiig heart, one with enough room for two Bichons, and who is willing to be our guide on our new adventure in the world.  So if you think that might be you, please fill out an application and ask for Keno and Skittles.  We promise to give you twice as much love!!

Kisses and nuzzles from,

Kind Keno and Sensitive Skittles

Hello new friends!

My name is Wofie. I'm looking for a buddy to share adventures with. I'm only nine pounds so I'm an easy traveler.  I could almost fit in your lunch bag!  (But that would be silly!)  At eight years old I know my way around a dog bone. My foster Mom says I have beautiful round, black eyes. She also says that I'm shaped like half a sausage. (Being a dog, I think that sounds pretty good.)

My perfect day is a morning cuddle, a long walk, breakfast, some napping, a fewWolfie_head1 jaunts outside to keep the riff-raff out of the yard, some more napping, a little wrestling with my doggie brothers and sisters, dinner, then a little dancing. Got your attention, huh?  Yeah, I like to dance. I even let my foster siblings in on it. I'm known for my mean twist.

One of my very favoritest thing in the whole world is walks!  However far you want to go, I'm game. I also like going to the dog park. I have fun telling the other dogs how to play. (For some reason they all ignore me….) My foster Dad says I need an experienced dog owner, because she says I can be bossy. Well, with four foster brothers and sisters here, someone has to keep this mob under control!  I’d love to go to a place where I would have doggy siblings to play with (but only doggy ones, no kids, please).

The only thing better than a day together is an evening on the couch next to my favorite person. A little TV, some tummy rubs, a little more wrestling then off to bed. I used to sleep in my crate but I worked my way into my foster mom's bed, once she found out I was housebroken. The left side is all mine.  I guess I'm hard to resist.

You know, there's plenty of white dogs around with poofy hair. How about trying a guy with more than just good looks? Why not try a guy with lots of personality? Why not try a guy like me, Wolfie?!!!!

Sending you a kiss and a special dance,

Wonderful Wolfie

Hi All! Wilson182_s

My name is Wilson, and I'm a two year old, fourteen pound, Bichon-Terrier mix. I have big, round black eyes that women seem to like (not to brag or anything, but it’s true!). I'm built kind of low to the ground, but my foster mom says it's a perfect shape for playing with the kids!  Which is good, because I love kids!

Mom describes me as a prancer, tail wagger and toy stealer.  (Aw, c’mon, Mom, I was just borrowing that toy!) I'm always ready to play fetch. I love squeaky, squeaky, squeaky toys! I sneak up on one, grab it and trot around the house squeaking it. Wherever I go, I like to keep my squeaky toys close.

Mom says that I get along with everyone I meet. (Even cats. I love cats.)  My perfect day would be wrestling and running with the kids and then, in the evening, snuggling up on my mom or dad's lap. I plan on focusing all of my attention on my new family, and I can do that best if I'm your only dog.

Dad says to mention that I’m smart, too.  I'm potty trained and know how to use the dog door to go outside. I walk great on a leash. I even know how to heel.  Hey, not many guys as young as me can say that! I sleep in my crate on my special blanket. But I’d be more than happy to sleep on the people bed. (Hey, it's worth a try.) Wilson193_w

Mom says that I adapted very quickly to the family routine. I can be a little shy at first, but once I relax, I get right into the swing of things. She says that I'm endearing, resilient and irresistible. (Aw thanks, Mom.)  And I am definitely ready to find my forever home. I just can’t wait to lay my bed down, put my toys away and happily stay with a family who loves me.

So as you search for your new companion, could you please take a look at me?  I’ll be here waiting with my favorite toy.

Snuggles and some tail-wags,

Wonderful Wilson

Hi People!Georgie071_s

I’m Georgie, and I’m a great little pup of 6 or 7 months, who is funny and playful and all those good things.  My foster Mom says one of the sweetest things I do is to cuddle up with my doggy foster brother to sleep.  Wanna hear something funny?  Since I’m just a little guy of about 9 pounds, sometimes I actually get ON TOP of him and fall asleep.  Dad thinks it’s hilarious.

I’m the kind of guy who loves everybody around me.  Especially kids!  Kids are so fun, and they pet me a lot, so I always smile and wag my tail when I see them.  When they asked my Mom what my favorite toy was, she said, “It’s you!”  I looooooooove being with my people, playing with them, or snuggling in their laps or just sitting nearby where I can see them.  And the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is to kiss my Mom’s face, to say "Good morning, Mama!”  It makes her smile every time.

I’m also really lucky, because just when I found out that I needed surgery (eek!) on my leg, my aunties at Bichon Furkids showed up.  They took me to a nice vet who fixed me in a jiffy.  Now I’m getting stronger every day.  Which is good, because I love to play with my ball.  I can even throw it in the air and catch it all by myself!!  Pretty smart, huh?  (Not to brag or anything, but Dad says I’d make a great soccer player.)  Anyway, don’t worry, because soon I’ll be completely healed and able to run like the wind anytime I want to.Georgie111_s

A few more things that Mom says I should mention.  Even though I’m a young pup, I’m pretty much housebroken.  I don’t know what that means, but my people all smile when they talk about it so it must be good, right?  Also, Dad says that I’m good at learning simple commands like “sit”, and that if you say “no”, I stop what I’m doing right away.  Well, of course I do!  I’d rather snuggle than be in trouble!  I love to cuddle up and sleep with my people in the big bed, but only if they say it’s okay.

So if I sound like the kind of snuggly, well-behaved, playful guy that you’d like to have at your house, can you please write and ask for Georgie?

High “fours” from,

Great, Gregarious Georgie

Hi Everyone!Tippy267_s

I'm Tippy, a sweet Bichon boy of three.  My foster Mom says that I'm a pretty smart little guy who loves to show off all the tricks I know.  For example, if you hold up a treat for me, I will stand on my hind legs and do a little twirling dance.  Almost like a ballerina, (but much more manly)!!

I'm an easy-going guy who gets along well with people, dogs, kids, you name it!  Even cats are okay with me!  We had a bunch of people with dogs come for Father's Day and Mom says that I was quite the host. Nothing bothered me and I just ran with the pack. Well, that's what we dogs do, right Mom?

Dad says I am really smart and very easy to train.  I know how to play fetch, and not to brag, but I'm really good at it. If you're too busy to play, I will run over and get a plush toy for myself. Tippy002_s I also love to go for walks and would make a great "walking buddy".  When I'm at home, I follow my people everywhere around the house, because my people are my world!

So if you've been dreaming of teaching a little Bichon lots of clever tricks, and you want a happy, sweet, loving guy to train, walk, and snuggle, here I am!!  Please fill out an application and ask for "Tippy."  You won't regret it, I promise!

Hi Everybody!Bubby074_s

I’m Bubby, a friendly, energetic little pup of 18 months, being fostered in Arizona.  My foster Mom says that one of the cutest things I do is get both ears to stick straight up so I look like a rabbit.  Mom, that’s silly!  Clearly, I’m a little dog and not a rabbit!

As you probably guessed from my age, I’m a very playful kind of guy.  I love to play “fetch”.  You throw the toy and I go get it, and then I run off with it, and maybe 15 minutes later I bring it so you can throw it again.  But Dad also says one of the nice things about me is that if you’re too busy to play with me, I can entertain myself.  I have this great game where I throw my toys in the air and try to catch them before they hit the ground.  I’m pretty good at it.  (Hey, do baseball teams take Bichons?)

I’m great at getting along with everybody.  I love to play tug of war on the rope toy with my Bichon foster sister, or if we have doggy visitors, I show them how to play “chase” in the yard. Mom says I’m a very good host.  I also really love to play with kids.  Kids are fun!   I even kinda like my cat friends here, now that I’m used to them.Bubby073_s

I’ve learned lots of new things here, by the way.  I’ve learned how to quietly play with toys in my crate.  I know lots of new words like “sit” and “down” and “drop it.”  I always get treats or praise for those, and it makes me feel so proud!  And if I think I might have done something wrong, I will lie on my back and “play dead” until I get a bellyrub.  Dad says it’s pretty hilarious.

Mom says to tell you that I’m special because I am soooo loving.  Aw, that’s sweet Mom.  Well, what I want most in the whole word is just to play and be near you, and to earn your praise & love in return.   Does that sound like a deal?  If so, just write and ask for Bubby.

Playful hugs from,

Bubby the Bestest  Bichon Boy
