Committee Leaders needed to start planning and organizing the event
Volunteers needed for the day of the event
SETUP: Setting up for event, including distributing tables and chairs, setting up Exhibit Tables, posting signs, moving boxes of materials for sale and setting up BFK sales booth, whatever is needed to get the ready for the “Bash”. Critical job! Requires about 10 volunteers to work from 7:00 until10:00 a.m . Good job for early birds in good shape.
GATE/ADMISSION/PARKING: We need a van and shuttle driver to bring guests and their furkids from nearby parking on side streets into the venue. We'll also need people to greet guests and verify their registration, sell raffle tickets, hand out programs, and help monitor the parking and traffic. We'll need at least 6 volunteers from 9:30 to 3:00 (can be split into two shifts) plus a van with easy side access.
ACTIVITY AIDES: Checking in registrants for the contests, etc. during the day, taking entry fees, handing out registration numbers. Must learn the event schedule; keep track of the schedule of contests, etc. There will be a pre-registration area (for those who registered by m ail)and an area for those registering the day of the event. Requires 5 volunteers from 10:00 to 2:00 (can be split into two shifts).
AUCTION SUPPORT: Those helping with the auction will be setting up items for the auction, assisting participants in the auction and monitoring the tables filled with auction goodies. We need two volunteers.
HOSPITALITY AIDES: If lunch is served, assistance will be needed to set up, keep food and drink organized and food area clear. W e need two to four volunteers.
FOOD SALES: We hope to have popcorn, snow cones, etc. for sale and will need assistance with sales. Four volunteers are needed.
SALES: Those who like to sell have lots of opportunities in the Bichon FurKid sales booth. We’ll also be selling raffle tickets and possibly food tickets. Four volunteers are needed.
RUNNERS: Mostly the “runners” pinch hit wherever there happens to be a need at the moment – substituting for other volunteers during breaks assisting the event committee with various special needs. Flexibility is key.
CLEANUP: This involves dismantling and collecting tables, chairs, cleaning up the grounds and putting away m aterials. After a long day, it’s very hard to muster the efforts to help clean up from the day’s events. The more help we have, the easier the job is for everyone! If you can stay after 3:00 p.m . or if you are signing up for an afternoon shift, please consider staying to help.
PHOTOGRAPHY: It would be really great to have a photographic record of this year’s event.
