The staff of Bichons FurKids is paid only in the love of what we do. Your total contribution will be used to offset expenses and rescue the next group of furkids who will show up, most predictably, each week- to steal our hearts once again. Each week BFK takes in dogs that need extra medical care and who, without surgery, would be put to sleep. We place them in loving foster homes where they can recover, physically and mentally. Our foster moms and dads dedicate themselves to healing these ‘kids’ and our wonderful vets provide the ongoing care they need to mend and heal. Each of these precious fur kids has a story – and all will have happy endings.

Meet Christopher, our newest rescue.

Little Christopher is 12 weeks old and came to us on Wednesday night, April 30th. He was diagnosed with parvo and spent his first night at the emergency vet – getting hydrated, taking super anti-biotics and fighting for his young life. On Thursday morning Christopher was transferred to Stonecreek Animal Hospital where he is being lovingly cared for. We hope Christopher can come into a foster home by Saturday.

His vet bills are already approaching $1,000 and we hope that you can help. If you want to donate to Christopher’s fund please click the donation link below. We will apply your donation to his care and send you a receipt.

There are always special little furkids who come into our lives, touch us - and who, for a variety of reasons, are not able to be with us nearly long enough. In the name of one of these special little angels, Conner, we have established a fund. The purpose of this fund is to provide for the unusual diagnosis, second opinion or unique treatment that future furkids may need.

If you would like to contribute to Conner's Fund, your contribution will be set aside accordingly. We will be happy to send you a receipt and to let you know, if you choose, how your donation is being used.

Here is little Shayna. She was hit by a car and her jaw is fractured in five places. Shayna's owners decided to turn her over to the shelter - but they could not help her as the extensive surgery she needed was well beyond what their doctors could do. Thanks to Dr. Glass and his team at Stonecreeek Animal Hospital, Shayna is now recovering. She has a long road ahead of her but her indemonstrable spirit will prevail. We'll continue to bring you updates on her progress as some weeks from now she will be adoptable.

Bichon FurKids is in need of unused animal crates.

If you were fostering a dog or adopted a dog from us and still have a BFK crate, we'd love to get it back.  If you have a crate you are not using, we would love it if you would donate it to our organization.  We'll gladly provide you with a tax receipt for your donation.
